Dear WordPress,
I’m terribly sorry I had to do this through a post, but I feel this is best for us. I like to think that all relationships come to a natural end, and for you and me, that time was today. It’s not you, it’s me; I’m done with this relationship because I decided to be with Tumblr.
Don’t let it get you all upset inside, we were not a good match to begin with. It was simply luck, and a temporary need that brought us together. I had to settle for one blogging service and you just happened to be available. At first we were fine together, and you took care of my problems just fine, publishing the occasional essay or article. But as time went on, I learned how to take care of my own work, and I found that I no longer needed you like I thought I did. Not only that, but you were cold, and distant. Whenever I did log on, I found an empty shell, never quite fulfilling my fantasies.
You’d be much better off finding a person that can properly blog with you, who knows how to (or has the patience to) manipulate the html codes midway through a post without having to Google instructions. I might miss certain things about you such as the time you posted my investigation into the identity of Sarah Tang, or my article on why Fight Club is the best romantic comedy ever. But for now, I need someone who is more open to a casual relationship.
I’m glad this is done. Here’s to hoping we can still be friends, and our memories of one another are good ones. Who knows, perhaps someday I will blog with you yet again!
